Hazel Henderson, founder of Ethical Markets Media and noted leader of green investing, has written a thoughtful essay called “The New Financiers.” In the essay, she argues that the green economy of the future will be a hybrid of information technologies and money, but money based in real values. Citing new exchange platforms such as LETS (Local Exchange Trade System) and Entrex, she makes the case that the future of financing will happen outside the opaque walls of Wall Street, and will focus on positive, ethical, and restorative values.
