RugMark Introduces GoodWeave Label
RugMark Foundation, a past RSF Seed Fund grantee, has announced that they are phasing out their existing certification label, RugMark International, and introducing a new one: GoodWeave. The new brand label will signal to consumers that a carpet has been made without the use of child labor, just as the older label did, but there will also be an increased commitment to environmental and social responsibility. While RugMark’s core mission to end child labor in the handmade carpet industry will not change, the organization reports that “GoodWeave label directives will be more rigorous, transparent and defined, and with input from a multi-stakeholder standards committee.” To find out more about GoodWeave, please click here.
