RSF Featured in Rockefeller Philanthropy Advisors’ Guide to Impact Investing
Rockefeller Philanthropy Advisors (RPA) recently published a new guide, Solutions for Impact Investors: From Strategy to Implementation, featuring RSF as one of three case studies along with KL Felicitas Foundation and the Calvert Social Investment Foundation. Interest in impact investing (creating social and environmental impact in addition to investment returns) has been growing recently, particularly during the past couple years of economic instability. RPA designed the monograph to be a guide both for foundations seeking to learn more about social, mission- and program-related investing and for individual investors and advisors who might have made socially minded investments but have not yet connected them to an overall investment strategy. The guide is also meant to assist traditional investors who are unsure how to incorporate impact investing into existing asset allocation models. Authors Steven Godeke and Raul Pomares adhere to the theory that investors do not have to choose between social impact or financial return – both can be achieved. According to Godeke, “The possibilities for social change through impact investing are limitless, but it is not charity; it can be used across all asset classes and requires the same discipline as traditional investing.”
