It started out as an idea in 1953 by a group of concerned parents. Now known as Arc of Greater New Orleans, the organization and its services have flourished over the years to now serving some 1000 children and adults in Jefferson, Orleans, St. Bernard, Plaquemines and St. Tammany parishes. Arc owns several social enterprises in order to employ people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. One of these enterprises is Vintage Garden Farm (VGF.) Vintage Garden Farm empowers, supports and employs farmers with disabilities to grow healthy, fresh food while taking care of the land they cultivate
