Why RSF?

With RSF, you join a community of borrowers and investors with a shared vision for our world.

We are relationship-based, meaning that we take the time to understand your business and mission and you gain a partner to help realize your vision. We offer and expect honesty and transparency. Over time, we build trust, which allows us to lean into opportunity and work through challenging times together.

With our integrated capital approach, we provide financial support along with other essential non-financial resources such as network connections and focus area expertise.

RSF is a nonprofit financial intermediary, not a bank, so the fees and interest you pay go back into our community and mission.

How we set our interest rates:
RSF Prime

Quarterly interest rates for loans made through RSF’s social enterprise loan program are set on the basis of an independent benchmark called RSF Prime. RSF Prime is communicated through a unique aspect of the loan program, the Quarterly Community Gatherings. Working together, the community contributes their insight to assist RSF in setting a price that meets the needs of everyone. In our continued efforts to eliminate barriers, we ask our community to respond to surveys to give us direct feedback regardless of their ability to join in person and anonymously to encourage real feedback and equal say regardless of account size. The meetings are held around the U.S. and online with representatives of our three stakeholder groups—investors, borrowers, and RSF staff—and are an opportunity to learn about each other, discuss what rates will best meet the needs of all stakeholders and to make recommendations for raising or lowering the interest rate. We believe this methodology fits better with our mission to create financial relationships that are direct, transparent, and personal.
