Ecological Stewardship

RSF supports organizations and initiatives committed to regenerating and preserving the earth’s ecosystems. Understanding that natural resources are the source of economic life, we seek those practicing integrated, systems-based, and culturally sensitive approaches to stewardship. We will consider supporting those projects and leaders who recognize and are working to reduce the gap between the seemingly endless demand for natural resources and the alarming stress already evident in ecosystems.

EcoScraps

Established in 2010, EcoScraps is an organic soil manufacturer that recycles food waste into a nutrient-rich soil conditioner that helps plants grow healthier, and in the most environmentally friendly way possible. Through this process they are able to reduce landfill waste and methane emissions by diverting more than 120 tons of produce waste daily. RSF financing has helped fund EcoScraps’ rapid growth as it continues to expand its network of waste management partnerships and exposure in retail outlets across the country. www.ecoscraps.com

RecycleForce

Based in Indianapolis, IN, RecycleForce is a social enterprise offering comprehensive, innovative and responsible recycling services while providing life-changing workforce training to formerly incarcerated individuals. Taking the electronic waste and other recyclables provided by residents and corporate partners, RecycleForce deconstructs these items, recycles the materials and disposes of the waste safely and cleanly. The scrap metals and other reusable materials collected in this process are then sold to help pay for job training programs for formerly incarcerated men and women in order to support their re-entry back into society. RSF financing allowed RecycleForce to purchase an industrial shredder which has dramatically increased their capacity for recycling materials. www.recycleforce.org

EcoLogic Solutions

Based in Brooklyn, NY, EcoLogic Solutions (ELS) is a leading clean tech manufacturer and distributor of environmentally preferable cleaning products and technologies for restaurants, offices, hospitals, schools, and other institutional customers.
