Aileen has 18-plus years of finance and accounting experience under her belt, many as head of the department. She has spent a good portion of her career in the shared services industry, where Aileen supported clients with everything from accounting set-up to harmonization to reporting process re-engineering and automation. In the nonprofit space, Aileen has served as a general accountant for the International Rice Research Institute (IRRI), an organization dedicated to reducing poverty and hunger, and improving the environment through rice science. While at IRRI, she prepared and provided monthly financial reports of IRRI compliance purposes to key grant donors like the Rockefeller Foundation, The World Bank, and the Asian Development Bank. She earned her Bachelor of Science Degree in Accountancy at the Holy Angel University in the Philippines. Aileen loves to travel and discover food from other cultures with her husband, John Sotelo, who works in seed and plant science at East-West Seed in the Philippines.
