Kim Hardy is Pacific Program Lead at MakeWay Foundation (formerly Tides Canada). In this capacity, Kim works with funders, change makers and innovative thinkers, to activate shared solutions. Based in the territories of the Lekwungen speaking peoples (or Victoria, BC), Kim has worked with First Nations and Indigenous leaders for over a decade in seeding community-based solutions. This experience has grounded Kim’s interest in removing barriers of access to capital and creating financing tools that meet the needs and challenges identified by communities. With an MBA focused on Community Economic Development, Kim is interested in durable, flexible, responsive capital that both activates and empowers community led solutions. In addition, Kim values the importance of learning/unlearning, the power of collaboration and networks and creating spaces for innovation and acceleration of solutions towards equity and ecological resilience. Kim also enjoys sailing the incomparable coastline of the Salish Sea with her husband, 2 and 4 year old.
