Sofia Robledo Rower
Sofia Robledo Rower is a queer, white Latina, from New York City and with strong community in Detroit, Michigan, and Cortes Island in British Columbia, Canada. In 2018, Sofia graduated magna cum laude from Brown University with a double major in Africana Studies and Ethnic Studies with a focus on cultural studies. Her senior essay focused on the history of Black agrarianism in the United States, the role of food and agriculture for community sovereignty and the embodied practice of farming as an archive. Sofia currently serves on the boards of the Threshold Foundation and the Calder Foundation and is committed to working for a more generative and equitable future through transformative justice, wealth redistribution, and reparations. Sofia uses her financial privilege as a wealth holder, and her personal actions to work against white supremacy, racial capitalism, and for gender equity, prison abolition, and liberated visions for the future.
