Derek E. Peebles

Derek is the Senior Director of Inclusive Economies at the American Sustainable Business Network (ASBN), where he leads initiatives aimed at fostering a just and regenerative economy. In this role, he has focused on dismantling systemic barriers to capital and increasing economic opportunities for marginalized groups, with an emphasis on restorative investing. Derek’s passion for community-driven economic development extends to his role as an advisor at Localight, a public benefit corporation that empowers local businesses, and as a board member for Green Umbrella, AMIBA, and the Small Business Anti-Displacement Network. In these capacities, he has worked on a variety of impactful initiatives, including organizing stakeholder dialogues, fostering partnerships, and promoting inclusive entrepreneurship. These experiences complement RSF’s focus on trust-based collaborations and community investing.

With an MBA in Organizational Leadership and a deep understanding of inclusive economic strategies, Derek is eager to help catalyze transformation by circulating capital to social enterprises, ensuring that RSF’s work continues to create a more just, regenerative, and compassionate world.
