Installing a window with an energy-efficient NxLite coating

RSF loans give mission-driven businesses and nonprofits access to the capital they need to purchase equipment, strengthen their operations, and grow their impact for the long term. Each loan is made possible by people who invest in our Social Investment Fund, putting their money to work in service of a regenerative financial system that supports people and planet.

NxLite: Making buildings more energy-efficient

NxLite’s mission is tackle one of the building industry’s biggest challenges: energy loss through windows. Buildings lose up to 30% of their energy through their windows. To address this, NxLite produces energy-efficient window coatings that make it easier to heat buildings when it’s cold and cool them when it’s warm, reducing both greenhouse gas emissions and energy costs. The coatings are also made of commonly available and easily recyclable materials, ensuring they can be produced with minimal environmental impact.

RSF’s $3.5 million loan to NxLite will help the company invest in new equipment that will make producing its window coatings much more efficient. We’re proud to help expand access to this much-needed innovation in the built environment.

“At NxLite we were looking for more than capital. We wanted a partner who measures success the way we do: by looking at both financial strength and real-world impact. That’s RSF.” – Drew Brophy, NxLite

EPR2: Expanding access to solar energy

Energy-Producing Retail Realty (EPR²) is a clean energy provider that develops, owns, and operates solar projects. RSF’s $500,000 loan supports three projects in California, which collectively enable $1.2 million/year in energy cost savings for end users and reduce CO2 emissions by 30,000 metric tons over 25 years.
