Kickstart International

Kickstart International (KSI) is a nonprofit that was established in 1991 to develop, sell, and promote technologies-low-cost human-powered and now solar-powered irrigation pumps- that enable farmers to irrigate their land, grow and sell high value crops year-round, gain income and food security, and climb out of poverty. While there are some for-profit entities that sell similar products, KSI is the only nonprofit that leverages donor funds and partnerships with international NGOs, microfinance institutions, and government agencies to reach and educate Africa’s poorest, hardest to reach and most risk averse farmers to adopt and benefit from these new tools.
