Philanthropy and impacting investing veteran Kathleen Paylor is charged with bringing new capital into RSF’s Social Investment Fund
SAN FRANCISCO, CA (September 29, 2023)—RSF Social Finance has hired Kathleen Paylor for the new position of vice president, investor relations, effective this month. Paylor will strengthen relationships with existing Social Investment Fund note holders and attract new investors to the loan fund, which provides catalytic capital to high-impact social enterprises.
Paylor, who has led and founded philanthropic investing and social enterprise accelerator programs, has long been focused on the intersection of money and meaning—“on how the use of money can be an expression of love that transcends, without overriding, the traditional focus on impact and ROI, and become something deeper,” she said.
In addition to nurturing relationships with the RSF investor community, Paylor will work closely with RSF CEO Jasper van Brakel and executive team members to advance RSF’s leadership in activating money for transformative social, ecological, and cultural change.
“With her extensive social finance background, relational approach, and close alignment with RSF’s ethos, Kathleen is the ideal person to build the Social Investment Fund and increase investor engagement,” said RSF CEO Jasper van Brakel. “We are thrilled to have her on the RSF team.”
Paylor’s prior experience includes founding and leading the philanthropic advising firm Rise Philanthropy; growing philanthropic investments in FoodCorps; serving as chief strategy officer for COMMON, a creative accelerator and community for entrepreneurs building socially responsible brands and companies; building a major gift and impact investing program for Root Capital; and founding and leading Conscious Capital.
